Equipos investing in software development activities
'An innovative IT consultancy business based in Wolverhampton'

When Equipos decided that it wanted to invest in its software development activities it utilised the KITTS scheme.

The Managing Director said he was keen to utilise the skills that a Computer Science graduate could bring to the project. He chose Damien Williams from a shortlist of graduates based on the specific skills he indicated, as he felt he was a natural programmer and that was what they were after.

Damien impressed the business so much that he has since been taken on full-time as a software developer working on major accounts. The Managing Director said of the scheme 'I think it is an advantage in getting the skills straight out of the University and I think it helps businesses'.

Whereas Damien said of the scheme 'The main thing that I wanted out of the placement was to get experience, something that I could offer to employers, but now that I have actually got a job here it's even better, now I can carry on with the work I was doing'.
