How much training allowance will the graduate receive per week?

The graduate will receive £220 per week.

 

I am a recent graduate will I pay tax or national insurance?

No, KITTS is designated as a training scheme so graduates are exempt from paying tax and national insurance. However if you are employed in a part-time role elsewhere then please do check this with your tax office as it may have repercussions on your tax allowance.

 

I am an international graduate am I eligible for KITTS?

Any graduate is eligible as long as they are currently living in the West Midlands

 

I studied in the West Midlands but now I live outside the West Midlands can I still apply for KITTS?

KITTS is unavailable to anyone living outside of the West Midlands region. Please contact us to confirm whether or not your location is covered if you are unsure

 

What happens if the business or graduate wants to withdraw from the KITTS programme?

The business or graduate can withdraw from the KITTS programme at any time providing they give one week's written notice to the KITTS Partner.

 

What holiday entitlement is the graduate entitled to?

As the graduate is not an employee of the company or the University, they are not automatically eligble to holiday pay - this is at the Company's discretion.

 

What type of projects are available for graduates?

The projects are very diverse. In the past we have received projects on website design, software development, CAD / CAM, product development, market research, re-branding, product launch, environmental etc

 

Who are Advantage West Midlands/European Social Fund?

Advantage West Midlands is the Regional Development Agency for the UK's industrial, commercial and agricultural heartland. The scope of this task means that the Agency works closely with a broad spectrum of public, private and voluntary sector partners to support regeneration, inward investment, business growth and skills development programmes in the region.
European Social Fund (ESF) funds training, human resources and equal opportunity schemes to promote the empoyability of people falling within certain criteria.

 

Will the graduate be employed by the business?

The KITTS graduate is not employed by the business or the University as KITTS is designated as a training programme.
